Baldt Anchor

Baldt Anchor is a traditional type of stockless anchor, cast from ZG200-400 steel. The surface is treated with black tarred painting or H.D.G, and the weight ranges from 20 kg to 20,000 kg. It has two large flukes that can dig into the sand at the same time to keep the ship stable.

Baldt anchors are usually used as bower anchors and are widely used in various merchant ships. Its high holding power in the sandy bottom and excellent stability also makes it a favorite for owners of large and small ships.

Baldt Anchor is a long-term used stockless anchor, which has the common characteristics of the stockless anchor:

1. There is no stock, so it’s very convenient for handling.  After lifting the anchor, it can be stored directly and save much space.
2. The two flukes dig in at the same time, no fluke sticking out of the soil.
3. The holding weight ratio of the common stockless anchors is generally about 3 in the soft mud bottom and can reach 5-7 in the sandy bottom, with the max. not exceeding 8. The holding power is smaller than that of the stock anchor but it can be compensated by increasing the weight.
4. For its convenience, the stockless anchor is widely used for bower anchors on a merchant ship.
